To clarify, I didn’t say we were paying authors. (TBD how exactly the money flows.) And, no, we won’t be fact checking — except stuff in our own publications. I also don’t think readers think that way: This person is getting paid and, therefore, I expect this to be true. People expect what they read to be true (unless its obviously not). And they learn over time (and via social proof) whether they trust a source, regardless if it’s an amateur or professional (which are just as often full of crap).
