I purchased the domain from the birdwatcher for $15k, I believe, before (or shortly after) we launched, actually. I knew we wanted it, but we kept it twttr.com for while to be quirky, I think. (This was also our logo: https://c.neevacdn.net/image/fetch/s--frk6aF7S--/https%3A%2F%2Fmarketingland.com%2Fwp-content%2Fml-loads%2F2013%2F04%2Ftwttr-logo.png -- so 🤷‍♂️)
